‘The Fish Ladder’ by Katharine Norbury

‘The Fish Ladder: A Journey Upstream’ is the first book by UEA alumna Katharine Norbury and is published by Bloomsbury this week. Katharine is a trained film editor who worked for many years with the writer Alan Bleasdale before joining the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) at UEA in 2011. She graduated as a part-time student in 2013 and has since gone on to undertake a PhD in Creative Writing at Goldsmiths College, London, under the supervision of Blake Morrison. Prior to publication, ‘The Fish Ladder’, a travelogue-memoir, earned Katharine a nomination in The Observer as a ‘Rising Star’ in the arts for 2015. She will be in conversation with Blake Morrison at the LRB Bookshop in London on 18th February
