Toby Litt and Rose Tremain shortlisted for Edge Hill Short Story Prize

Two UEA Creative Writing alumni have been shortlisted for this year’s Edge Hill Short Story Prize, which recognises excellence in a published collection of short stories and is worth £5,000 to the winner.  Rose Tremain (pictured), who graduated from UEA in 1967 and has become the first female Chancellor of the university, is nominated for The American Lover, published by Chatto & Windus last year.  Toby Litt, who graduated from the MA in Creative Writing in 1995, is nominated for Life-Like, which was published by Seagull Books this year and was also longlisted for the Frank O’Connor International Short Story Award.  The winner of the Edge Hill competition will be announced on 2nd July.
