Fawcett, Antoinette

Antoinette Fawcett is a doctoral student in Literary Translation at the University of East Anglia and is translating the work of two Dutch modernist poets, Martinus Nijhoff (1894-1953) and Gerrit Achterberg (1905-1962). She has had poems and translations published in a range of literary journals, including Poetry Review, Poetry London and MPT, and was second prize-winner in the 2009 Keats-Shelley Poetry Competition and third prize-winner in the 2010 John Dryden Translation Competition. She taught for many years in the UK, China, The Netherlands, Singapore and Norway, before returning to the UK in 2001.
