‘The Liars’ Gospel’ is the third novel by UEA alumna Naomi Alderman and is published by Viking this week. Naomi completed the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) in 2003, when she was that year’s winner of the David Higham Award. Her first novel, ‘Disobedience’, was published in 2006 and went on to win the Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award and the Orange Broadband Prize for New Writers. It was also shortlisted for the Glen Dimplex Award. In 2007 Naomi was named as one of Waterstone’s ‘25 Authors For The Future’, and in 2009 she was shortlisted for the BBC National Short Story Award. Her second novel, ‘The Lesson’ was published in 2010 and was longlisted for the Impac Dublin Literary Award and serialised for BBC Radio 4’s Book at Bedtime. Between 2004 and 2007 Naomi was lead writer on the BAFTA-shortlisted alternate reality game ‘Perplex City’. She has written online games for Penguin and the BBC, and in 2011 she wrote the Doctor Who tie-in novel ‘Borrowed Time’. Earlier this year she co-created the top-selling fitness game and audio adventure ‘Zombies, Run!’
