‘The Mill For Grinding Old People Young’ is the eleventh book by UEA alumnus Glenn Patterson and is published by Faber and Faber today. Glenn graduated from the Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) MA in 1986 and published his first novel Burning Your Own in 1988. This won a Betty Trask Award and the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature. In 2006 he received an Arts Council Northern Ireland Major Individual Artist Award and published his first work of non-fiction, ‘Lapsed Protestant’. Glenn teaches on the MA in Creative Writing at Queen’s University, Belfast.
