after careful consultation, we are currently in the process of completely redesigning and re-launching our website. it's time for a change and time, now we actually have a bit more time (and money), to put together properly the things we've wanted to do for a while. it's always been our hope, here at egg box, to have a community of creative people at the heart of this site. if you would like to be featured or involved, then get in touch. this will all take a little while longer, but check back whenever you're nearby for new developments. along with a new look, the first thing to go up here will be a webzine, then shortly after we'll be designing a facility allowing you to update our site with your own gig information and blogs. if you are an artist, musician, fellow independent publisher, reviewer or blogger and you would like to contribute in any way, please do give us a shout.
egg box would like to highlight the next exciting instalments from the wonderful s/s/y/k troupe: three more chances to buy the book; three new chances to hear this splendid and tremendous band read; three more chances to hear music from the happy gang. what more could you want? apart from four new chances. attend or be damned. attend and be damned. first and foremost s/s/y/k are pleased to announce the london launch, which will be held at the albany, 240 great portland street w1w 5qu (nearest tube: great portland street). this will be on thursday the 6th of september from 7.30 pm. over the course of the evening, there will be readings from the contributors (jack underwood, agnes lehoczky, tim cockburn, sam riviere, matthew gregory, nathan hamilton, hayley buckland) as well as music from king & the olive fields, mat riviere & charlotte morris. copies of s/s/y/k (2) will be available, all shiny & hot-off-the-press. it promises to be a very fun and celebratory indeed evening of poems & music. visit the web site to find out more about this and two further gigs on 22nd September and 7th October this very same 2007.
egg box would like to highlight the following bunch of young poets
(and not just because nathan is among them). they are a talented crew
who have recently put together an anthology (with only a tiny bit of
help from us):
stop sharpening your knives is a would-be-magazine/anthology-series founded by sam riviere and jack underwood in 2005. the ever-expanding s/s/y/k collective counts among its ranks 9 of the sharpest emerging poets around, as well as a host of talented collaborators in the visual arts and the alternative music scene. visit their web site to buy a copy - out now! - and for news about some excellent up and coming events. |
