nathan hamilton Nathan was born and grew up in Peterborough. While often getting the hump, he read archaeology at Newcastle University before changing his mind, odd-jobbing, and then applying for a BA in English & American Literature at UEA, for which he achieved first class honours in 2004. While on his BA, he edited a literary fanzine and wrote and edited for the student newspaper, Concrete, for which he won two Guardian Student Media Award nominations. He completed an MA with distinction in Creative Writing: Poetry at UEA in 2005, during which time he edited Wake to raise money for the charity Habitat for Humanity. In addition to being Egg Box's Managing Editor, he is currently also a Programme Manager at The New Writing Partnership. Nathan also sits on the board of Inpress - a unique company that ensures representation and distribution for independent publishers. Working together, Inpress' member presses are attempting to break down the barriers preventing small publishers from achieving mainstream sales. Nathan's writing and poetry has been published in a number of places in print and online and he was a judge for the 2007 Commonwealth Short Story Prize. He takes long trips across hot dunes by day and shelters from the desert's cold at night. |
