UEA alumnus Andrew Miller has been included on the shortlist of four for the 2012 Costa Novel Award. Andrew (pictured) is nominated for his sixth novel, ‘Pure’, which was published by Sceptre earlier this year. He graduated from the Prose
Fiction MA in 1990 and published his first novel, ‘Ingenious Pain’, in 1997. This won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for Fiction, the Italian Grinzane Cavour Prize and the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award. His third novel, ‘Oxygen’, was shortlisted for the Whitbread Novel Award and the Booker Prize in 2001. The winner of the Costa Novel Award will be announced on 4th January, and the overall winner of the Costa Book of the Year Award on 24th January.
