‘The Pure’ is the debut spy thriller by UEA alumnus Jake Wallis Simons and is published today by Polygon (under his shorter nom de plume, Jake Simons). Jake was born in London in 1978 and gained a first class degree in English from St Peter’s College, Oxford, before gaining his PhD in Creative Writing at UEA in 2009. His first novel, ‘The Exiled Times of a Tibetan Jew’, was
published in 2005 and named by the Independent on Sunday as a Book of the Year. His second novel, ‘The English German Girl’, was published last year. Jake is writes for a number of broadsheet newspapers in the UK, and regularly broadcasts on BBC Radio 4.
