This year’s UEA Creative Writing anthologies
are published this month by Eggbox and will be launched with public reading events in Norwich and
London. Published in three separate volumes – Prose, Poetry and Scriptwriting – the anthologies feature new work by the MA class of 2011-12 and will be available for sale at the launch events and directly from Eggbox at www.eggboxpublishing.com. The Norwich launch will take place at the UEA Drama Studio on Tuesday 16th October at 7pm, and the London launch at the London Review Bookshop at 14
Bury Place, WC1, on Wednesday 24th October at 7pm. Compiled, edited and designed by the students themselves, and published with support from the Malcolm Bradbury Memorial Trust, these are the latest anthologies in an annual series that began with ‘Unthank’ in 1989. The first drama scripts appeared in the 1994 anthology, ‘Matrix’, the first poems in the 1997 anthology, ‘Catapult’, and the first pieces of Lifewriting in the 2004 anthology, ‘Concertina’. This year’s Prose anthology features an introduction by last year’s Costa Book Award winner, Andrew Miller, who himself featured as a graduating student in the 1990 anthology ‘Exposure’.
