UEA Scriptwriting graduate Luke Owen has been named as the winner of this year’s Papatango New Writing Prize in partnership with the Finborough Theatre, London. His play ‘Unscorched’ was chosen unanimously from over 500 entrants and will receive a full professional production at the Finborough Theatre from October 29th to November 23rd. The script will also be published by Nick Hern Books, and will be given a development week and public reading at the Bristol Old Vic in early September. Luke (pictured) grew up in Woking and now lives in Norwich, where he works as an actor and copywriter. He graduated from the BA in English and Drama at UEA before joining the Creative Writing MA (Scriptwriting) in 2005. He subsequently became a member of the Royal Court Theatre Young Writers’ Programme.
