‘Wreaking’ is the third novel by UEA alumnus James Scudamore and is published by Harvill Secker this week. James graduated from the Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) MA in 2004 and published his debut novel, ‘The Amnesia Clinic’, in 2006. This was shortlisted for the Costa First Novel Award, the Dylan Thomas Prize, the Glen Dimplex New Writers Award and the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize before winning the Somerset Maugham Award in 2007. His second novel ‘Heliopolis’ was published in 2009 and included on the longlist for the Man Booker Prize. In 2009 James also returned to UEA as a Creative Writing Fellow and taught on the undergraduate Creative Writing programme. He has since taught on the MA in Creative Writing.
