Eliza Robertson’s debut collection of short stories, ‘Wallflowers’, will be published by Hamish Hamilton in Canada next year. Eliza (pictured) was born in Vancouver and studied creative writing at the University of Victoria before joining the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) at UEA in 2011. She was that year’s recipient of the Booker Foundation Scholarship and received the Curtis Brown Prize for best writer on graduation in 2012. She has since rejoined UEA to undertake a PhD in Creative & Critical Writing. Earlier this year she won the Commonwealth Short Story Prize and was a finalist for the CBC Short Story Prize. Sara Taylor’s debut novel, ‘The Shore’, will be published in 2015 by Heinemann in the UK, Hogarth in the US, and Bond Street in Canada. The first chapter of ‘The Shore’ was the winner of the Stonybrook Southampton University fiction prize in 2012. Sara is currently completing her second novel, begun while on the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) last year, and is about to start a third novel, which will form the creative element of her PhD in Creative & Critical Writing.
