‘The Kills’ by UEA alumnus Richard House has been shortlisted for the Green Carnation Prize, which celebrates work by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender writers. Comprising four novels, and originally published by Picador in digital form, ‘The Kills’ was longlisted for this year’s Man Booker Prize. Richard (pictured) graduated with a PhD in Creative and Critical Writing in 2008 and now teaches at the University of Birmingham. He is the author of two previous novels, ‘Bruiser’ (1997) and ‘Uninvited’ (1998), and is a member of the Chicago-based art collaborative, ‘Haha’, and editor of the digital magazine ‘Fatboy Review’.
