Avni Doshi has joined UEA as this year’s second Charles Pick South Asian Fellow, following Akil Kumarasamy last semester. Avni (pictured) was born in New Jersey, USA, and completed her BA in Art History at Barnard College, Columbia University. She then went on to gain an MA in Art History at University College London before moving to Mumbai to pursue a career as an art curator. Avni’s articles have appeared in Art Asia Pacific, Art India and Frieze. Her most recent exhibition in Mumbai centered on the writing of Gabriel Garcia Marquez. In 2013 she received the Tibor Jones South Asia Prize for her novel in manuscript ‘Girl in White Cotton’.
