Following its sell-out run at Soho Theatre in 2012, Janice Okoh’s Egusi Soup is about to begin a national tour. Janice (pictured) graduated from the Scriptwriting strand of UEA’s MA in Creative Writing in 2008 and is one of Menagerie Theatre’s Associate Writers. She was a runner-up for the 2011 Verity Bargate Award for ‘The Real House’, and the 2011 winner of the £16,000 Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting for ‘Three Birds’, which received its world premiere at the Royal Exchange Theatre in London last year. Her other works include ‘Open House’ (Royal Court, 2013) and ‘Utopia’ (Live Theatre/Soho Theatre, 2012), and she is currently midway through the BBC Drama Writers Academy, storylining and writing scripts for ‘Casualty’, ‘Doctors’, ‘Eastenders’ and ‘Holby City’.
