Chelsey Flood wins James Reckitt Hull Children’s Book Award

‘Infinite Sky’ by UEA graduate Chelsey Flood has been announced as the winner of this year’s James Reckitt Hull Children’s Book Award, having recently also been shortlisted for the Branford Boase Award. Chelsey (pictured) was born in Derby and gained a BA in English from the University of Falmouth before joining the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) at UEA. She graduated in 2010 as the winner of that year’s Curtis Brown Award for best Creative Writing dissertation, and went on to publish ‘Infinite Sky’ with Simon and Schuster in 2013. ‘Infinite Sky’ was previously longlisted for the The Carnegie Medal and is currently shortlisted for the Leeds Book Awards in the 14-16 category.
