UEA alumnus Ian Nettleton has been named runner-up for the inaugural Peggy Chapman-Andrews First Novel Award, administered by the Bridport Prize, for his novel ‘The Last Migration’. Ian (pictured) completed his PhD in Creative & Critical Writing at UEA in 2003 and has since taught the writing of fiction, journalism and screenplays at UEA, the Open University, and Goldsmiths College, London. He has also worked for the BBC as a writer/presenter, critiqued novels for The Literary Consultancy, and published short fiction in a number of anthologies. ‘The Last Migration’ was also runner-up in the Bath Novel Award earlier this year.
