‘All True Not A Lie In It’ is the debut novel by UEA alumna Alix Hawley and is published by Knopf Canada this week. Alix was born in Vancouver in 1975 and gained a BA in English Literature from the University of British Columbia before completing her M.St and PhD at Oxford University. She graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) at UEA in 2001 and published her debut collection of short stories, ‘The Old Familiar’, with Thistledown Press in 2008. She won the 2014 Canada Writes Bloodlines competition, and was runner-up for the CBC Literary Award for short stories in 2012 and 2014. She currently teaches English and Creative Writing at Okanagan College in Kelowna, British Columbia, where she lives with her family.
