‘The Honours’ is the first novel by UEA alumnus Tim Clare and is published by Canongate this week. Tim graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) in 2004 and published his first book, the memoir ‘We Can’t All Be Astronauts’, in 2009. This was the winner of the Best Biography prize at the East Anglian Book Awards. As a stand-up poet, he performs widely the UK and internationally, and is a member of the poetry collective Aisle16, along with fellow UEA graduates Joe Dunthorne, John Osborne, Joel Stickley and Luke Wright. His debut collection, ‘Pub Stuntman’, was published by Nasty Little Press in 2012. Tim has performed his work on BBC television and radio and has written for The Guardian, The Times, The Independent, The Big Issue and Writing magazine, among others.
