‘And She Was’ is a verse-novel by UEA alumna Sarah Corbett and is published by Pavilion Poetry this week. Sarah graduated from the UEA MA in Creative Writing (Poetry) in 1998 and gained a PhD in Critical and Creative Writing from Manchester University in 2013. Her first collection of poetry ‘The Red Wardrobe’ was the winner of an Eric Gregory Award in 1998. It was published by Seren and was shortlisted for the 1998 T.S Eliot Prize and the Forward Best First Collection Prize. This was followed by ‘The Witch Bag’ in 2002 and ‘Other Beasts’ in 2008, both published by Seren. Sarah currently teaches Creative Writing at the University of Lancaster.
