Small Hands is the debut collection of poetry by UEA alumna Mona Arshi and has just been published by Liverpool University Press. Mona (pictured) trained as a lawyer and worked for the human rights organisation Liberty for several years before joining UEA. She graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Poetry) in 2013 and was subsequently one of 10 poets selected for The Complete Works, an Arts Council development programme. In 2012 she was the winner of the Magma Poetry Competition for her poem Hummingbird, and last year her poem Bad Day in the Office was placed second in the Troubadour International Poetry Prize. In 2014 Mona was also the joint winner of the £10,000 Manchester Writing Competition prize for poetry.
