Nancy Parker’s Diary of Detection is the new book for children by UEA alumna Julia Lee and is published by OUP this week. Julia graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Poetry) in 2000. Her first novel, written under the name Julia Widdows, was shortlisted for the Daily Mail First Novel Award in 2007 and was published by Doubleday as Living In Perhaps in 2009. Her first novel for children, The Mysterious Misadventures of Clemency Wrigglesworth was published in 2013 and shortlisted for the Booktrust Best Book Award, the Stockport Children’s Book Award, the Rotherham Children’s Book Award, the Burgess Hill Best Book Award and the Waverton Good Reads Children’s Book Award. The Dangerous Discoveries of Gully Potchard was published in 2014 and shortlisted for the Cumbrian Primary Schools Book Awards.
