Ice Diaries: An Antarctic Memoir is the latest work by UEA Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing Jean McNeil and has just been published by ECW Press in North America. Originally from Nova Scotia, Canada, Jean is the co-Director of the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) and the author of ten previous books, including four novels and a collection of short fiction. Her work has been shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writer’s Prize, the Governor-General’s Prize for fiction (Canada) and the Journey Prize for short fiction (Canada). She has twice been the Mellon Foundation Visiting Scholar in South Africa, and works for part of each year in South Africa and Kenya. Her new novel The Dhow House will be published in the UK by Legend Press in September.
