That Brazen Electric Strap of a Wan is a new play by UEA alumna Sue Healy and will be performed at the King’s Head Theatre, Islington, on the 7th, 14th and 19th May at 3p.m. The show is supported by Arts Council England and National Lottery funding and is directed by Adina Levay, the artistic director of the Norwich based theatre company Chalk Circle. Sue (pictured) graduated from the UEA Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) MA in 2009 and has since won a number of national short story awards, including the 2010 Waterford Annaghmakerrig Award, the 2010 Ted O’Regan Award, the 2011 Molly Keane Memorial Award, and the 2011 Highlands & Islands Short Story Association. Her short story ‘Mussels’ was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 last year. Her drama credits include four BAI-funded radio plays: Cow (2013), The Daffodil (2014), Cake (2014) and Strongbow’s Clock (2014). She has also won the Sussex Playwrights’ Award. Sue is currently a Doctoral Fellow at Lincoln University, researching a PhD on New Writing at the Royal Court Theatre
