Luke Wright nominated for Saboteur Awards

New Writing

UEA alumnus Luke Wright has been nominated in two categories of this year’s Saboteur Awards. He is shortlisted in the Best Spoken Word Performer category as well as in the Best Spoken Word Show category for his show What I Learned From Johnny Bevan. The awards are run by The Sabotage Times, with the winners chosen by public online vote. Luke (pictured) graduated from UEA in 2003 and is the author of several books, including Who Writes This Crap? (with Joel Stickley, 2007) and Mondeo Man (2012). What I Learned From Johnny Bevan is his debut stage play and was first performed at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2015, winning a Scotsman Fringe First Award for new writing and, for himself, The Stage Award For Acting Excellence. It was published as a book by Penned in the Margins earlier this year.
