The White Trail by UEA alumna Fflur Dafydd has been longlisted for the 2019 New Welsh Writing Awards. Fflur (pictured) writes in both her native Welsh and in English. She graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) in 2000 and has since written for stage, screen and radio, as well as recording and touring widely as a musician. Her first Welsh-language novel Lliwiau Liw Nos (Colours by Night) was published in 2005 and shortlisted for the National Eisteddfod Prose Medal. It was followed in 2006 by her second novel Atyniad (Attraction), which won the award. Her first English-language novel Twenty Thousand Saints was published in 2008 and won the Oxfam Hay Prize for Emerging Writers. The White Trail was first published in 2011 by Seren as part of a series of contemporary reimaginings of the Mabinogion. Fflur currently lectures in creative writing at Swansea University.
