Monologues for Women by Women: Celebrating 40 Years of Clean Break’s Rebel Voices is a new collection of theatrical monologues co-edited by current UEA Creative Writing student Lauren Mooney. Lauren graduated from the Royal Court Introduction to Playwriting course in 2015 and has written extensively about theatre, arts and culture for Exeunt, The Stage and The Guardian. She previously worked as the literary producer for Clean Break, which supports emerging writers and produces engagement work in prisons, and is a co-founder of the theatre company Kandinsky, whose productions have won the Sunday Times Playwriting Award, a Peter Brook Festival Award and an OffWestEnd Award for Best Ensemble, and been shortlisted for the Carol Tambor Award. Dinomania, a new play co-written and produced by Lauren, opened at the New Diorama Theatre in London earlier this year. Lauren is currently the David Higham Scholar on the Creative Writing (Prose) MA at UEA. Monologues for Women by Women is co-edited with Roisin McBrinn and published by Methuen Drama.
