Our Place: Can We Save Britain’s Wildlife Before It Is Too Late? by UEA alumnus Mark Cocker has been longlisted for this year’s Wainwright Golden Beer Book Prize, which is worth £5,000 to the winner and celebrates the best books about nature, the outdoors and UK travel. A widely-published journalist, broadcaster and naturalist, Mark (pictured) graduated from UEA with a BA in English Literature in 1982 and is the author of ten previous works, including most recently Birds and People (2014), illustrated by David Tipling, Claxton: Field Notes from a Small Planet (2014), and Crow Country (2007), which was shortlisted for the 2008 Samuel Johnson Prize for Non-Fiction. The shortlist for the Wainwright Golden Beer Book Prize will be announced on 2 July and the winner on 15 August.
