Two UEA alumni have been longlisted for the 2019 Sunday Times Audible Short Story Award, which is the world’s richest prize for a single short story. The winner receives £30,000 and each of the six shortlistees £1,000. The co-sponsor Audible will also produce an audio anthology of the six shortlisted stories. Toby Litt (pictured), who graduated from the UEA MA in Creative Writing in 1995, is nominated for ‘Impatience’, while Joe Dunthorne, who graduated from the BA in English Literature with Creative Writing in 2004 and from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) in 2005, is nominated for ‘All the Poems Contained Within Will Mean Everything to Everyone’. The shortlist for the award will be announced on 21 July and the winner on 12 September.
