There Is A Light That Never Goes Out: Scenes From the Luddite Rebellion is a Royal Exchange Theatre Production in association with Kandinsky created by current UEA student Lauren Mooney and co-writer James Yeatman. It runs until 10 August. Lauren (pictured) is currently the David Higham Scholar on the Creative Writing (Prose) MA at UEA. She graduated from the Royal Court Introduction to Playwriting course in 2015 and has written extensively about theatre, arts and culture for Exeunt, the Stage and the Guardian. She previously worked as the literary producer for Clean Break, which supports emerging writers and produces engagement work in prisons, and is a co-founder of Kandinsky, whose productions have won the Sunday Times Playwriting Award, a Peter Brook Festival Award and an OffWestEnd Award for Best Ensemble, and been shortlisted for the Carol Tambor Award. Dinomania, a new play co-written and produced by Lauren, opened at the New Diorama Theatre in London earlier this year. Lauren also recently co-edited Monologues for Women by Women: Celebrating 40 Years of Clean Break’s Rebel Voices, which was published by Methuen Drama.
