Dead Flowers is the new crime novel by UEA graduate Nicola Monaghan and is published by Verve Books this week. Nicola graduated from the MA in Crime Fiction at UEA in 2018. She previously graduated from the MA in Creative Writing at Nottingham Trent University in 2004 and published her first novel, The Killing Jar, in 2007. This won a Betty Trask Award, the Authors’ Club Best First Novel Prize and the Waverton Good Read Award. She subsequently published The Okinawa Dragon in 2008, Starfishing in 2009, The Troll in 2015 and a collection of stories, The Night Lingers, also in 2015. As Niki Valentine she has published three more books, The Haunted (2011), Possessed (2012), and The Doll’s House (2012). She teaches Creative Writing at De Montfort University
