OK, Mr Field, the debut novel by UEA alumna Katharine Kilalea, has been shortlisted for the Collyer Bristow Prize for debut fiction. The novel was published by Faber and Faber last year. Katharine grew up in South Africa and moved to England in 2005 in order to study for an MA in Creative Writing (Poetry) at UEA. She graduated in 2006 and in 2009 published her debut collection of poetry, One Eye’d Leigh, with Carcanet. This was shortlisted for the 2010 Costa Poetry Award and longlisted for the Dylan Thomas Prize. The winner of the Collyer Bristow Prize will be announced on 3 October.
