Joe Milan Jr has joined UEA for this academic year as the 2019/20 David T. K. Wong Writing Fellow. Joe (pictured) is a PhD candidate in Creative Writing at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, where he is a Barrick graduate fellow and was a Black Mountain Institute PhD fellow. He gained his MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts and was the winner of F(r)iction’s 2017 short story award. His work has appeared in a number of journals including The Rumpus, Broad Street, the Los Angeles Review of Books’ and The Kyoto Journal. He is American of Korean ancestry and taught in Korea for nine years and is currently writing a novel, Without A Handle.
