UEA Creative Writing alumna Olivia Walwyn is to publish her first full collection of poetry, Halcyon, as the winner of the 2019 Straid Collection Award. The award is open to new and established poets and is run by the independent publisher Templar Poetry. Olivia graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Poetry) in 2017, having previously completed a BA in English Literature & Philosophy at Durham University and an MA in Political Philosophy at York University. She is a competitive mountain runner, and works as a school librarian in Macclesfield. Her poems have been published in The Rialto, The North, Ariadne’s Thread, Agenda, Orbis, the Seventh Quarry, Ink, and on the Poetry Society website.
