Graduating Creative Writing student Bridget Walsh has won this year’s £3,000 UEA Little, Brown Award for Crime Fiction for her debut novel The Stanhope Venus. Bridget (pictured) graduated from the UEA MA in Crime Writing this year and was also the recipient of the David Higham Associates scholarship to undertake the course. A former teacher of English, she is the author of the monograph Domestic Murder in Nineteenth Century England: Literary and Cultural Representations, published by Ashgate in 2014. The Little, Brown Award was judged by a panel of Sphere Fiction editors and awarded by publishing director Ed Wood at the launch of the MA Creative Writing Anthologies event at the London Review of Books Bookshop earlier this month.
