Red Earth, Red Sky, a radio play by UEA alumna Janice Okoh, has been shortlisted for this year’s BBC Radio and Music Awards. It was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in October 2019. Janice (pictured) graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Scriptwriting) in 2008. She was a runner-up for the 2011 Verity Bargate Award for The Real House, and the 2011 winner of the £16,000 Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting for Three Birds, which received its world premiere at the Royal Exchange Theatre in London. Her other works include Utopia (Live Theatre/Soho Theatre, 2012), Egusi Soup (Soho Theatre, 2012), Open House (Royal Court, 2013) and The Gift, which premiered at the Belgrade Theatre Coventry earlier this year.
