Wilder Girls, the debut novel for Young Adults by UEA alumna Rory Power, has been shortlisted in the LGBTQ Children’s/Young Adult category of the Lambda Literary Awards (a.k.a. the ‘Lammys’). Rory grew up in New England, where she lives and works as a crime fiction editor and story consultant for TV adaptation. She graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) at UEA in 2016. Wilder Girls was published in the UK last month by Macmillan Children’s Books, having been first published in July 2019 by Delacorte Press in the United States, where it was a New York Times bestseller. Her second YA novel Burn Our Bodies Downwill be published later this year. The winners of the Lammys will be announced on 8 June in New York.
