Miriam and Youssef is a new ten-part radio drama about the founding of Israel by UEA Professor of Scriptwriting Steve Waters. It will be broadcast on the BBC World Service from Wednesday 29 April. Steve has written many plays for the stage, including Limehouse and Temple (both for the Donmar Warehouse, London), Little Platoons and The Contingency Plan (both at the Bush Theatre, London), Fast Labour (West Yorkshire Playhouse and Hampstead Theatre, London), and World Music (Sheffield Crucible/Donmar Warehouse), all of which are published by Nick Hern Books. His adaptation of The Last King of Scotland by fellow UEA Professor, the novelist Giles Foden, was staged at the Sheffield Crucible Theatre last year, while his nine-part drama Fall Of The Shah was broadcast on the BBC World Service.
