Three UEA Creative Writing alumni have been nominated for the 2020 Crime Writers Association (CWA) Dagger Awards. Grim Fairy Tale by Karen Taylor, a 2019 graduate of the MA in Crime Fiction, is shortlisted for the Debut Dagger, a competition for the opening of an unpublished crime novel. The Man on the Street by Trevor Wood, a 2017 alumnus of the Crime Fiction MA, is nominated for the John Creasey (New Blood) Dagger, an award for the best crime novel by a first-time author, and A Shadow Intelligence by Oliver Harris has been selected for the Ian Fleming Steel Dagger, an award specifically for thrillers. Oliver (pictured) graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) in 2004 and is the author of three previous novels: The Hollow Man (2011), Deep Shelter (2014) and The House Of Fame (2016).
