UEA alumna Sophia Veltfort has been nominated in a series of recent short fiction competitions: Narrative Magazine’s 30 Below Contest, CutBank’s Montana Prize in Fiction, and Third Coast’s Fiction Contest, where she was the runner-up. A story shortlisted for the 2018 Arkansas International Emerging Writer’s Prize is to be published in the autumn issue of Santa Monica Review, while another story recently appeared in Meridian. Sophia (pictured) graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) in 2014 and is currently studying for a PhD at Cornell University. She is working to complete a collection of short stories.
