Two recent UEA graduates James Smart has been shortlisted for the inaugural UEA New Forms Award for experimental fiction, which is open to all currently unpublished fiction writers resident in England. James (pictured) graduated from the MFA in Creative Writing in 2019. He was previously the winner of the Glimmertrain Best New Writer award and was shortlisted for the 2018 Commonwealth Writers Short Story Prize. He has been nominated twice for the Pushcart Prize and once for the Best of the Net award. Originally from the American Midwest, Taylor graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Scriptwriting) in 2019 and now lives in London. She was longlisted for the 2019 Snoo Wilson Prize for Scriptwriting, and has had two creative non-fiction pieces shortlisted in the Show Me Yours Prize. She is the Resident Dramaturg for The New Collectives. The winner of the UEA New Forms Award, who will receive £4,000, will be announced on 2 July.
