Trap Street and Dinomania, two plays co-written by UEA alumna Lauren Mooney, have been just published by Salamander Street under the name of Kandinsky, the theatre company founded by Lauren and co-writers Al Smith and James Yeatman. The plays were premiered at the New Diorama Theatre in 2018 and 2019 respectively. Lauren graduated this year from the Creative Writing (Prose) MA as the recipient of the David Higham scholarship. She graduated from the Royal Court Introduction to Playwriting course in 2015 and has written extensively about theatre, arts and culture for Exeunt, the Stage and the Guardian. She previously worked as the literary producer for Clean Break, which supports emerging writers and produces engagement work in prisons. Productions by Kandinsky have won the Sunday Times Playwriting Award, a Peter Brook Festival Award and an OffWestEnd Award for Best Ensemble, and been shortlisted for the Carol Tambor Award. Lauren also co-edited Monologues for Women by Women: Celebrating 40 Years of Clean Break’s Rebel Voices, which was published by Methuen Drama.
