Two UEA alumni have been commended in this year’s Poetry Society National Poetry Competition. Luke Allan, who graduated from the BA in English Literature with Creative Writing in 2009, was commended for his poem ‘Something to Show for It’, while Daniel Bennett, who gained a BA in American and English Literature, was commended for ‘Clickbait’. Luke was the winner of the 2019 Charles Causley International Poetry Competition in 2019 and published a chapbook, minimum soft exchange, in 2015. Daniel (pictured) is the author of the collection West South North North South East (2019) and two pamphlets Arboreal Days (2018) and The Roadkill Cookbook (2017). His first novel, All The Dogs, was published in 2008, and has been followed by My First London Dream (2020) and Scenes From the Island (2016).
