Where Do Stories Come From? is an interactive installation exploring the writer’s process created by UEA alumnus Tash Aw in collaboration with Guildhall Live Events, an innovative new department of Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Commissioned as part of UEA’s Future & Form project, it will be launched online as part of the Norfolk and Norwich Festival on 21 May. Future & Form comprises six new multidisciplinary, experimental works that explore the interface between contemporary literature and creative technology. Funded by Arts Council England, it is the centrepiece of the fiftieth anniversary celebrations of the UEA Creative Writing programme. Tash (pictured) graduated from the UEA MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) in 2003. He is the author of three novels – The Harmony Silk Factory (2005), which won the Whitbread First Novel Award; Map of the Invisible World (2009) and Five Star Billionaire (2013) – and a work of non-fiction, The Face: Strangers on a Pier (2016), which was a finalist in the LA Times Book Prize.
