‘Postpositions’ by UEA alumnus Amaan Hyder has been longlisted for the 4thWrite Short Story Prize, which is run by 4th Estate Books in association with the Guardian and is open to Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic writers. Amaan (pictured) graduated from the UEA MA in Creative Writing (Poetry) in 2006 and is the author of the poetry collection At Hajj (Penned in the Margins, 2017). His poems have appeared in various publications including The Guardian, Poetry Review and Poetry London. He is a Ledbury Poetry Critic 2021 and currently studying for his PhD at Royal Holloway, University of London. The short-list for the 4thWrite Prize will be announced on 29 July. The winner, who will receive £1,000, a one-day publishing workshop at 4th Estate and publication of their story on the Guardian website, will be announced on 1 September.
