Sleep Training by UEA alumna Eluned Gramich has won the inaugural The Ghastling Novella competition. Eluned (pictured) was born in Haverfordwest and completed a BA in English at Oxford University in 2010 before graduating from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) at UEA in 2012. She is the translator of the German short story collection Goldfish Memory by Monique Schwitter (Parthian Books). Her memoir Woman Who Brings the Rain (New Welsh Rarebyte) was the winner of the 2015 WWF Cymru Prize for Writing on Nature and the Environment at the New Welsh Writing Awards, and went on to be shortlisted for the Open University in Wales Creative Non-Fiction Award. The Ghastling is a biannual short-story magazine and will publish Eluned’s novella in the autumn.
