UEA alumna Anna Pincus and poet David Herd are the editors of the fourth Refugee Tales anthology, which is published by Comma Press this week and features contributions by Robert Macfarlane, Bidisha and Amy Sackville. In each volume, a group of prominent novelists and poets retell the stories of individuals who have experienced Britain’s policy of indefinite immigration detention, with all profits going to the Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group and Kent Refugee Help. David Herd’s collections of poetry include All Just (Carcanet 2012) and Through (Carcanet 2016), and is a Professor of Modern Literature at the University of Kent. Anna graduated from the UEA MA in Creative Writing in 1985 and is the founder and Director of Refugee Tales. She has worked for Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group for ten years supporting people held in immigration detention and the volunteers who visit them, and raising awareness about the campaign to end indefinite detention.
