UEA alumna Sarah Corbett has won the Arvon Award in the 2021 New Writing North Northern Writers’ Awards. Sarah (pictured) graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Poetry) in 1998. She is the author of five collections of poems, most recently A Perfect Mirror, published by Pavilion Poetry in 2018) and highly commended in the Forward Poetry Prizes. Her poetry has been shortlisted for the Forward and T.S. Eliot prizes, and in 2019 she won the Andrea Badenoch Award for her first novel, The Trouble with Jo. Sarah teaches Creative Writing at Lancaster University.
