Two UEA alumni have been longlisted for the UK Literary Association Book Awards, which recognise outstanding books for children and are judged by current classroom teachers. Richard Lambert (pictured), who graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) in 2010 is nominated in the 11-14+ category for The Wolf Road, which was published by Everything With Words last year and was also nominated for the 2021 Branford Boase Award. David Almond, who graduated from UEA with a BA in English and American Studies in 1973, is nominated in the 7-10+ category for Brand New Boy, which was published by Walker Books last year and is illustrated by Marta Altes. The shortlists for the UKLA Book Awards will be announced in March 2022, and the winners in July.
